Despite the rain, and a bad loss for the Phillies last night (they are still up 2 games to 1 in the series), we had an awesome weekend. My Dad came in early Friday morning and we spent most of the day doing yard work. The yard looks great (as it always does after my Dad has been here to help. Yard work is his field of expertise!) Friday night, Harley, Braeden, my Dad, Mike and I went to Wild Wing to watch the Phillies game. Wings and baseball (and beer for the older boys)- can’t get much better than that. It was a GOOD game and the Phillies won. One of our waiters was from right outside of Philly and was really getting into the game with us. Saturday we went and bought Braeden a new bike. It was an early Christmas present from my parents and Mike’s parents. Thank you SO MUCH! He was ready for a bigger bike and we figured he would get more use out of it the next couple months than he would the few months after Christmas (when it tends to be cooler). We enjoy having my Dad visit so much. He is always such a wonderful help and so much fun. Thanks for coming we love you, appreciate all you do so so much and we miss you already! My Mom has a hard time traveling because of her back, but we were thinking of you Mom, we missed you, love you and look forward to seeing you at Thanksgiving.
Mikey LOVES his “Papa” (and of course Papa loves Mikey- Papa just NEVER smiles for pictures) and can say his name perfectly. When I went in to get him from bed Sunday morning, he looked around and said, “Papa?” My Dad had already left. :(
He also takes after his Papa! The finicky little eater LOVES ruffles potato chips!
My Dad left early Sunday morning and around lunch time, Braeden’s aunt, uncle and cousins came in for the day. They live in Panama City, but were in Columbia all weekend for a wedding and were so sweet to drive a bit out of their way to spend the day with us. It was Mike’s first time meeting them and we all had such a great time visiting. They treated us to our favorite Japanese restaurant which the kids really enjoyed. Thanks SO much Nicole and Chuck. We love you.
Charlie is 7 and Allie is almost 5. They are both such sweethearts.
Here are a few more pictures from the weekend. Braeden doesn’t care to be outside when its raining (even a little bit). Mikey on the other hand……
Discovering the water spout during the rain
“Where exactly IS that water coming from?!” Nothing keeps his attention longer than a minute or so, but he was SO fascinated with the drain. We didn’t want to ruin his fun, but were so worried he was going to cut his fingers on the metal.
Told ya he was a climber!
I promise I will take more pictures of Braeden soon. Its so hard to capture him because he always off doing his own thing most of the time and Mikey, well, we ALWAYS have our eye out for him, and some of the things he does just can NOT avoid being caught on camera. I really DO love those 2 equally!
Have a great Monday! The Phillies play again tonight. Cheer em’ on!
