H- A- double L- O- W- double E- N- spells Halloween!
I will never misspell “Halloween” thanks to a song I learned in elementary school- sing the title of my blog. I will never forget Halloween thanks to Mikey who LOVES “Halloween time.” It started with him picking out his costume in early September (stay tuned for some adorable pictures); then came the Halloween flag that we put up on the flag pole that had been flagless since we moved in. It’s so cute and fun how excited Mikey gets at the “little things” that I couldn’t help but decorate a little more than usual this year. I pulled out the Halloween bin that usually doesn’t come out until a day or two before Halloween and low and behold there was the Thomas the Train movie that my Mom had given Mikey last year that I’d put away for this year. He was ecstatic when he saw it. You’d have thought by his reaction that he’d reached in the bin and found gold. Oh I just LOVE sharing holidays with my boys. Celebrating though the eyes of my children is the very BEST part of any holiday.
Halloween Decorations 2010-
Braeden made the little pumpkin on the right in kindergarten
the candle is pumpkin scented
Halloween napkins. I am such a dork and use one of these little napkins every day for my coffee spoon. I always fill the holder with napkins to match the month
-
Sticky notes and Halloween pen. I LOVE Target's $1 section-
The Halloween Books we are reading-
Mikey especially loves this pumpkin that lights up. I LOVE the Plate on the bottom self. It’s called the Write Plate and it was a housewarming gift. You can change out the ribbon depending on the season and the pumkin in the middle is actually a magnet that can also be changed. You write on the plate with washable black marker. Best gift ever.
This is the pumpkin Mikey picked. I stumbled upon the pumpkin decorating kit at Target. Let me just say that retail never seems to let down the NEAT FREAK, OCD amongst the population. I do not carve pumpkins A- because I do not have ANY talent and I don’t trust myself with a knife and B- I do not like the mess, the gunk, the orange hands. SO, this kit is SO perfect. Its the Mr. Pumpkin head and you basically decorate a pumpkin same way you’d play with Mr. Potato Head. Stay tuned for the work of “art.”
Hands down my favorite part of VA- change of seasons- SO gorgeous-
My handsome little guy sportin’ his Fall colors-
and his glow in the dark skeleton shirt. Its getting tougher and tougher to find cute seasonal shirts for Braeden, but we did stumble upon a perfect one. Now, if only I can pull him away long enough to take a picture.
OH, and thanks Aunt Lisa, Unlce Lorne, Uncle Jack and his girlfriend Lisa for all the Halloween goodies you sent in the mail. We’ll send you the dental bill
