Pictures
I promise to get you caught up with a detailed blog soon, but for now let me at least get you caught up on some pictures.
Braeden’s Nana and her husband Roy came in town the second weekend in October. The boys (and me) ADORE her.
This is the night the Phillie’s won the Pennant and advanced to the World Series (for the 2nd year in a row). We actually said he could stay up and watch the whole game, but by about 9:00 this was him on the couch. Mike woke him up as soon as we won the game.
Mike and I spent an amazing afternoon and evening (child-free) at a dear friend’s wedding a few Saturday’s ago. It was so much fun getting out just the two of us. We even slow danced.
The beautiful bride Paula and I (her dress was AMAZING!)-
I’m caught with a mouthful of cake-
Last weekend we enjoyed the fall weather and attended a fall festival at a local church. The boys also picked their pumpkins. Mikey was as happy as can be going down this slide over and over again.
Braeden took this SERIOUSLY. He was sweating and exhausted when his turn was over. There was a little girl on the other side with the harness attached to her too.
“The sun is in my eyes Mama!”
This was the best I could get of Mikey (the sun was pretty hot)-
Then 2 days later it was THIS cold-
“Look Mama, its not ‘gary’ (scary), I’m not ‘gared’ (scared) anymore!”
All Aboard!
We had such an AWESOME weekend in NC. We drove to Mike’s aunt’s house in Gastonia, NC (about 20 minutes outside Charlotte), Thursday night. We arrived at about 8pm to yummy homemade vegetable beef soup, salad, bread and WINE! Aunt Ginger lives in a gorgeous house right across from the country club. She was the most wonderful host and made us feel so welcome. She left Friday to meet her husband in Chicago, so we had her 4800 sq. ft. house to enjoy. Mike’s cousin Matthew who is 17 stayed behind and their cute dog Penny (who is scared to death of MEN- it was so funny because she would sit by the front door and bark and growl like crazy at Mike, but as soon as he walked in the door, she’d go running the other way). Anyway, it was such a treat to save the money we would have paid for 3 nights in a hotel and have all the comforts and convenience of home. Thank you SO much Ginger. Friday, we headed to Spencer, NC a small little town of 3000 people, about an hour away. The weather was PERFECT, cool (high 60′s) with a breeze. Here are (just a few) pictures.
The boys wearing their conductor hats-

Here comes Tommy-

Mikey was chosen to yell “All Aboard!” into the microphone with the Conductors-

Mikey wanted to hop on this antique tricycle SO bad. He kept trying to climb through the rail-
What a LUCKY little boy- Thomas the Train AND a Firetruck TOGETHER!
Finally ”touching” a Fire Truck-
Ended the day with a little golf
Saturday we hit a HUGE in-door outlet mall in Charlotte. We were there for 6.5 hours and the boys did GREAT! Mikey even fell asleep in his stroller for about 3o minutes. Mom Mom had to rent him the cool car stroller!
It actually kept him nicely entertained.
Braeden was so helpful, cooperative and patient all day, not whining at all. We came across this neat bungee cord jump thing and $7 was a deal to provide him a little excitement after being drug around all day. He LOVED it. I wish I could have got a real close up of his face when he was high up because it was SO funny!
WOW! AWESOME!
After we were all shopped out, had terribly sore feet and grumbling tummies, we sat down and ate at Dave and Busters. The food was actually really good and since we got there before the dinner rush, it wasn’t so loud and busy. Both Braeden and Mikey opted for a “prize” at Walmart instead of wasting money on the video games. Mikey chose a Fire Truck Little Einstein movie and Braeden some baseball cards. One of the cards he got was his favorite baseball player- Chase Utley (Phillie’s player). He’s opened pack after pack after pack recently hoping to get him. He squealed with delight when he saw it and said, “This is the BEST day of my life!”
I LOVE kids- it doesn’t take much to please them.
A Mama HAS to brag…..
Sometimes being tough and the “Meanie” pays off…..
We’ve started getting on Braeden because when he writes his spelling words out for homework, sometimes its a bit sloppy. We gave him a few warnings and then had to start making him redo the whole list when its sloppy or there is too much erasing. This was his spelling TEST from last week that came home yesterday. SO proud of that kid.
