Why not REALLY get caught up!

Posted in Uncategorized by sandy on the October 28th, 2007

OK, I’ve posted 5 entries already this week and I am including a few more pictures.  I’ve more than made up for slacking in the past! :)

My Honey and I!  Mike has been so sweet and so helpful lately and I truly love him as much as it shows in this picture!  Notice the Miller Light Mike is hiding behind his back.  What’s with him and beer on vacation?

We thought we’d see if Mikey really is different than his big brother (Braeden loved lemons when he was Mikey’s age).

“I’ve already made it clear, I am NOT like my big brother!”

To be honest, I was just as fascinated as Braeden that there were so many coconuts in the palm trees in Ft. Lauderdale.

This one is for Michael K.

When our friend Michael came to visit, he brought jerseys for the boys (Mike’s Dad gave him his).  I thought if all 3 were decked out in Eagle attire, then MAYBE they would finally win.  Looks like 3’s the lucky number.  Eagles won today 23-16!

Backing things up a bit…..

OK, time to update everyone on everything since I last wrote a “real” entry.  I am babysitting right now and the little boy is in bed.  Its only 7:30 and I will be here until after midnight so its the perfect opportunity to write.  This week has not slowed down one bit.  Thank goodness we GAIN an extra hour next week.

Our trip to Ft. Lauderdale was great.  The drive was very long though.  Mike really enjoyed his conference and learned a lot.  The boys, my parents and I didn’t do much.  We sat by the pool every day for almost the whole day and went to bed earlier than we do at home.  Braeden met a little boy the first day who was one month younger than him.  They played together the entire week for hours each day.  One of my children was occupied anyway.  Mikey had to be rocked back and forth in his stroller any time he was awake.  I am not kidding.  We would stop for a second and he would fuss.  He is SO high maintenance and needs to be entertained constantly.  Mike would love to blame me for this, but I have proof that its HIS genes and not mine.  We were at his parents house last week for dinner and his Mom made us banana pudding for dessert.  She had to make Mike his own banana pudding without the bananas.  High maintenance I’d say.  We were in church last Sunday and Mike looked over at me and said, “I’m bored!” Then he started playing pac-man with my watch.  WHO needs to be entertained? Mikey HAS figured out how to rock himself in his carrier though.  Its the funniest thing you’ve ever seen.  Now I can say that both my boys were record-breaking babies.  Braeden with his constant rolling (from about 4 months until he walked at 18 months) and Mikey with his carrier rocking.  He is going to have the strongest legs.  He will get a serious look on his face, start kicking his legs, realize that its rocking him and then move his legs faster and faster until he is really going.  Any time we are at a restaurant or store and he is on the ground in his carrier, he starts.  He really puts on a show and gets a lot of attention and the sweetest comments.  Anyone who sees him laughs and says they’ve never seen a baby do that.  Hey, if he is entertaining himself AND preparing himself to win a future gold medal in (something) then more power to him.  Anyway, we didn’t do much else while on vacation.  I did check out a really neat 3-story mall- BY MYSELF and we ate at some great restaurants.  The beach is gorgeous and since it was the off-season, it was also pretty scarce.  It really was a great trip, just not long enough.

Last week was catch up week.  All of us got sick while on vacation with a cold/sore throat thing.  Mikey is still coughing, but seems fine, and thanks to antibiotics, the rest of us are better.  We finally sold Mike’s Harley.  I know he was so sad to part with it, but we sold it to a good friend/co-worker.  The monthly savings will be nice and Mike knows he will get another one in a few years.  Right now he just doesn’t get the chance to ride it enough.  We’ve both been so busy with work and it seems we’ve had other things going on almost every day or night.  Next week is the same.  I will miss my Mom’s group this Tuesday because Braeden has Halloween Day at school and I volunteered to help.  It will be nice to see Braeden in action at school, but I am bummed it had to fall on the same day.  I am so excited to finally be able to socialize with other Moms who are experiencing similar things that I hate to miss even one day.  I enjoyed myself so much last week.  I also made Mike happy when I told him that I am NOT loosing my hair and that its normal for hair to fall out more after pregnancy.  Something ONLY a group of Mom’s would talk about.  The fair is also in town right now and since we didn’t go to Disney, we will take the boys one night this week.  What a good excuse to eat yummy bad-for-you food, and then eat more yummy bad-for-you food!  By the way, I am down another 5 pounds and 2 pant sizes.  Mike actually told me I looked sexy the other day.  I Don’t think I’ve heard that since we first met!  Haha.  I wouldn’t go as far to say I am sexy, but I am happy that I can fit into some old pants.  The compliment WAS great motivation to keep exercising and eating better.  It will be so hard to be good after Braeden trick-or-treats this week and we have Halloween candy that seems to call my name at 2 am when I am up feeding Mikey (who yes is STILL waking up at night)!  He is now 5 months old.

OK, I gotta get out of this room.  These people have 4 cats who apparently congregate to this room.  I am allergic and don’t like cats anyway.  I hope everyone has a great week!

I’ll post more pictures soon……especially of Mikey’s first Halloween.  He is going to be a frog and Mike is horrified.  Frogs are masculine aren’t they?  I think he will be adorable, a little hot since the outfit is fleece (its almost November and still 80 degrees), but cute!  Braeden will be a Ninja Turtle.

We also had two close couples of ours have baby boys this week!  GO BOYS!  Congratulations to Thomas and Kylee and Christy and Ian.  We are so happy for you and your families.

Yes, I cried!

This morning was the award ceremony for “Terrific Kid.”  It was very special and of course I was emotional.  Braeden looked so handsome standing in line waiting to get his award.  Mike looked over at me and said, “He looks nervous.”  When I picked Braeden up from the bus stop, I asked him if he was nervous.  I am not sure he knows what “nervous” means because his answer was, “No Mama, but my heart was ‘BEEPING’ really fast when I was standing in line!”  Mike’s Mom also came and brought muffins for him to share with the kids in his class afterwards.  Here is a picture of him getting his award, the award and what the principal read about him (his teachers wrote the message for the principal to read).  GO BRAEDEN!
